Lynwood is home to several booming retail centers such as the Long Beach Pluma Shopping Center and Atlantic Crossing, the latter consisting of Walgreens, Panda Express, and Starbucks. Plaza Mexico, one the city’s largest redevelopment projects, contains 36 acres situated in downtown Lynwood. Its architecture is reminiscent of that of the State of Guanajuato, Mexico. This area effectively showcases the look and feel of authentic old world Mexico.
The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency is also focusing on revamping the city’s downtown area, particularly Long Beach Boulevard, to attract new businesses and encourage economic development. They also plan to construct 215 new single-family homes within the next couple of years. Areas of interest in Lynwood include Plaza Mexico, various city parks, and Lynwood Skate Park. The city’s location near Los Angeles gives visitors and locals a convenient advantage.
