Scottsdale, Arizona is quite the well-rounded town; it is both the “West's Most Western Town” and an internationally known tourist hot spot. Rich in its cowboy roots, Scottsdale plays host to many western events such as the Scottsdale Arabian Horse show, which attracts thousands of visitors each year with vendors, exhibitions, and demonstrations. The Parada del Sol, the world's largest horse-drawn parade, starts off the famous Scottsdale Jaycees Parada del Sol which includes the PRCA Rodeo.

Tourism is Scottsdale's biggest industry, and the city's amenities reflect this. High-rise hotels, high-end shopping, many restaurants in a variety of flavors, and the bustling nightlife all mark the rise of the city's expansion. Named “America's Best Place to Live for Golfing,” Scottsdale regularly hosts high level golf tournaments. Another factor that makes Scottsdale such a popular attraction is the climate; with warm weather year-round, tourists and locals alike can enjoy the many outdoor activities and scenery at any time.

The Scottsdale Arts Festival, which is held every March, is the oldest arts festival in the area. Proceeds go to support the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Art's education and community outreach programs. There are several famous art galleries in the area, such as the Bentley Gallery and Chiaroscuro. On a more specialized front, Scottsdale hosts the Barrett-Jackson Auto Show each January. With luxury and exotic car dealerships rarely found in the US, this is a huge attraction for car enthusiasts.
